STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- Sources close to the OSU football program have confirmed to Oklahoma Sports that OSU running backs coach Robert Gillespie will be leaving Oklahoma State and will take on the same role at West Virginia.
Gillespie's move comes in the wake of former Oklahoma State offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen taking the offensive coordinator job and future head coaching position at WVU.
Gillespie spent two seasons at OSU and coached backs such as current St. Louis Rams running back Keith Toston and All-American Kendall Hunter.
He was also the main recruiter for OSU verbal commit Herschel Sims, a five-star running back of Abilene, Texas.
Gillespie will replace West Virginia's Chris Beatty as running backs coach.
Holgorsen has reportedly also hired Arizona offensive coordinator Bill Bedenbaugh, whom the Cowboys faced in their Dec. 29 Alamo Bowl victory. Bedenbaugh will likely take over as the offensive line coach at Arizona while Holgorsen handles the offensive coordinator position for one season.
Holgorsen and Bedenbaugh played together at Iowa Wesleyan in the early 1990s.
