SAN ANTONIO -- The Tulsa Golden Hurricane fell to the UTSA Roadrunners by 20 points, despite a strong defensive effort.
TU out-rebounded UTSA by six and recorded seven more steals but struggled on offense. The Golden Hurricane shot 31 percent from the field and 26 percent from the three-point range. Tulsa was able to land 81 percent of their free throw attempts.
TU’s Taleya Mayberry led all scorers with 23 points, and led the Golden Hurricane with four steals. Teammate Amanda Mason put up 14 points and had seven boards.
The Roadrunners’ offense was too potent though, with five of their players finishing in double digits, including Alysse Davis, who had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
TU will face North Texas Saturday at 3 p.m.
