Three Sooners Named to Academic All-District

NORMAN, Okla. – Three members of the University of Oklahoma’s football team have been named to the ESPN Academic All-District VI team.
The three are Brian Lepak, Jamarkus McFarland and Demontre Hurst.
Lepak, a senior offensive lineman from Claremore, carries a 3.86 grade point average while majoring in Finance.
McFarland, a sophomore defensive tackle from Lufkin, Texas, has an average grade point of 3.32 in Exercise Science.
Finally, Hurst, a sophomore cornerback has a 3.32 GPA in University College.
To be eligible for academic all-district, a player must be at least a sophomore in eligibility carrying at least a 3.30 grade point average while performing as a starter or important reserve.
The three Sooners will now advance to the Academic All-America ballot and the final team will be announced near the end of the season.
