OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma -- Former Tulsa HurricaneBen Uzoh signed with New Jersey Nets Thursday, after being bypassed in the NBA Draft.
"It's an exciting time," Uzoh told Oklahoma Sports in a text. "Just working hard as always."
Uzoh was a huge component for the Hurricane, averaging 13.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.1 steals during his collegian career. He played in 141 games for Tulsa, earning honors such as the First Team All-Conference USA during his senior year and Second Team All-Conference USA as a junior and senior.
The Nets are courting the league's most prized free agent -- superstar LeBron James. The chance to possibly play with 'King James' has Uzoh eager for the season.
"Yeah that may happen," he said. "It would be amazing."
The Nets also signed Duke’s Brian Zoubek.
