TULSA, Oklahoma -- The Tulsa Shock held on for a 79-74 victory over the Indiana Fever Saturday. Natasha Lacy hit the dagger shot with 15.6 seconds left to put Tulsa on top 76-72.
Tulsa’s bench came up big with three players scoring in double figures. Amber Holt led all scores with 16 points. Lacy finished with 15 points, while Plenette Pierson added 12.
The Shock trailed 59-56 at the start of the fourth quarter. Tulsa opened the final period on a 12-5 run to take a 68-64 lead.
Indiana’s Tamika Catchings hit a layup with 1:16 remaining to tie the game 72-72.
Lacy would drive then dish to Chante Black, who hit a layup to put Tulsa back on top 74-72 with: 53 seconds remaining. Lacy would connect on an 18-footer to give the Shock a four point advantage.
Indiana hit two quick 3-pointers at the start of third period to take a one point lead. The Fever outscored Tulsa 24-16 in the third quarter.
The Shock closed the second quarter on a 10-5 run to take a 40-35 advantage into halftime.
Tulsa scored 38 points in the paint while holding Indiana to 20 points.
Catchings had 15 points to go along with 10 rebounds.
The Shock host Minnesota at 7:00 p.m. Friday.
