WACO, Texas -- Oklahoma State closed its season out with a 4-1 loss to the Baylor Bears Sunday.
The Bears (31-21, 12-13) struck early, with a Cal Towey two-run home run to right field in the bottom of the second inning.
Oklahoma State (29-26, 8-19) cut the Baylor lead in half in the top of the fifth. Richard Belza tripled to right to score Brad Propst from first. However, the Bears would respond immediately.
In the first at-bat of the fifth inning, Jake Miller homered to left field to push the lead to 3-1. Baylor added more breathing room in the bottom of the eighth when Gregg Glime scored on a Brian Denney wild pitch.
Craig Fritsch (1-3) picked up his first win of the season after pitching 6.2 innings, giving up five hits and a single earned run. Andrew Heaney (5-4) gave up three earned runs on nine hits in his 5.1 innings of service for the Cowboys.
Oklahoma State ended its season on a three-game losing streak, after being eliminated from the Big 12 tournament with Friday’s loss.
