TULSA, Oklahoma -- The Tulsa Talons improved to 4-3 on the season after handing the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz a 67-41 beating.
Tulsa’a Carlese Franklin produced five scoring plays for the Talons, including a six yard run which put his team on the scoreboard first.
He was able to connect with quarterback Justin Allgood for 52 years and three touchdowns. Allgood threw for a total of 178 yards, completing 15 of his 19 throws, including six touchdowns.
Odie Armstrong led the Talons in rushing with 38 yards as Tulsa continues to remain perfect this season at home.
Oklahoma City struggled offensively, as quarterback Tommy Grady gave Tulsa its first score of the night off an interception. He completed 15 of his 28 pass attempts, finishing with 171 yards and two touchdowns.
Unable to keep up with the offensive pace the Talons set early in the game, Xavier Lee took the reins at the quarterback position.
Lee didn’t fair too much better, as the Yard Dawgz battled to regain momentum. He completed 8 of his 15 attempts, including two touchdowns.
A scoreless third quarter for Oklahoma City created a deficit they were unable to bounce back from. The Yard Dawgz fell to 2-5 on the season, as they prepare to face the Alabama Vipers May 28.
The Talons will travel to Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings on May 29th.
