NORMAN, Oklahoma – The OU baseball team continued its domination at the plate Tuesday with a 14-5 blowout of Arkansas-Little Rock.

The Sooners (33-12, 10-9) have now scored nine or more runs in six consecutive games, a total of 76 scores in that span. Arkansas-Little Rock (22-22, 5-15) started the scoring with a huge second inning, thanks in large part to a costly error.

The Trojans scored two unearned runs in the inning and finished the top of the inning with a 5-0 lead, but they did not score again.

The Sooners got on the board in the bottom of the second with an RBI groundout by Cody Reine, and Ross Hubbard later scored on a wild pitch to cut the lead to 5-2. OU then blew things open with a big inning of its own in the third.

The Sooners batted around in the frame, with Garrett Buechele starting the scoring with a two-run double to draw within one run. Max White drove Buechele home moments later, and Hubbard immediately followed with an RBI triple to give OU its first lead of the contest.

Danny Black added an RBI on a bunt single later in the inning, and Bryan Groth finished the inning’s scoring with an RBI groundout to give the Sooners six runs in the frame.

OU began extending its lead in the fourth inning, when Cameron Seitzer connected on a solo home run and Hubbard blasted a two-run bomb later in the inning to give the Sooners an 11-5 lead. They continued to pile on in the sixth inning, when Buechele added a two-run homer. Caleb Bushyhead finished the night’s scoring with a sacrifice fly in the eighth.

Michael Rocha (6-1) earned the win for OU after entering in the third inning and holding the Trojans scoreless on just two hits in three innings. Sean Potter (0-1) was credited with a loss after giving up six runs in two innings of work.

The Sooners have now won six of their last seven games, and will return to Big 12 play in the Bedlam series starting at 7:35 p.m. Friday.
