TULSA, Oklahoma -- After scoring 104 points in their exhibition game, the Oral Roberts women’s basketball team continued to score at will in the season opener, downing UT Pan-American 98-65.
Freshman Kevi Luper scored a game-high 25 points on 9-of-13 shooting. Sophomore Jordan Pyle also had a big night, recording her fourth-career double-double with a career-high 22 points and 10 rebounds. In all, four Golden Eagles reached double digits.
Oral Roberts started off strong against the Broncs and led 42-23 when the first half buzzer sounded. The Golden Eagles continued to pour it on after the break and put 56 on the board in the second half. ORU finished the game shooting 47.2 percent from the field.
Oral Roberts played strong defense as well, forcing 31 turnovers and holding the Broncs to 34 percent shooting.
The Golden Eagles (1-0) will look to continue their winning ways when they travel to Lawrence, Kansas for a showdown with Kansas.
