LANGLEY, Oklahoma -- The Grand River Dam Authority says it is working the feds to assist in rebuilding marinas on Grand Lake damage during February's winter storms.
The GRDA oversees Grand Lake and acknowledged the need to work with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to speed up the restoration process.
"A need for flexibility and an expedited process allowing marinas to rebuild in a timely manner to quickly resume normal" business practices during these difficult economic times," said GRDA Ecosystems Management Director Dr. Darrell Townsend.
The GRDA says the expedited process would have given marinas more flexibility with rebuilding.
FERC staff stated it would review these requests on an expedited schedule. The FERC must still approve the changes before the modifications can be built.
