HENRYETTA, Oklahoma -- A section of eastbound Interstate 40 in Okmulgee County was closed again Thursday morning due to what the Oklahoma Highway Patrol says were numerous semi tractor trailer crashes.
The OHP says the roadway has reopened.
Earlier Thursday morning, another stretch of I-40 near Checotah was closed for the same reason.
The OHP says most highways in Pittsburg, McIntosh and portions of Okmulgee counties were covered in a layer of ice, making travel hazardous Thursday morning.
The Oklahoma State Department of Transportation had trucks out applying sand and salt to the interstate highway and other area roads to help with traffic flow.
