TULSA, Oklahoma – Tulsa's newest skate park opened Friday.
City officials celebrated the opening of SkateNorth, located on the southwest corner of 56th Street North and U.S. Highway 75.
Even though it just opened, skaters have been using the park since the concrete dried.
"They're excited about it, they're as excited as we are because, like you said, this is a first-class," said Tulsa City Councilor Jack Henderson.
"This is a catalyst for economic development in the area," Tulsa City Councilor Roscoe Turner said. "We're looking forward to good things from this."
An official grand opening will be held in March.
