Family, Friends Remember Runner Who Died In Route 66 Marathon

TULSA, Oklahoma -- A Tulsa Runner, who died while running a half-marathon, was remembered by family and friends Friday.

Friends and family held services for 27-year-old Marcus Takach. He fell in the tenth mile of the Route 66 half-marathon last weekend.

First responders attempted to revive him, but he died at the scene.

Fellow runners will gather for a candlelight vigil in Takach's memory Sunday evening at 6.p.m. They are meeting along the races route near 15th Street and Riverside Drive.
