Construction Closes South Tulsa Street This Week
A new waterline will cause several evening street closings in Tulsa this week. TULSA, OK -- A new waterline will cause several evening street closings in Tulsa this week. Construction crews will tie in the new water to several south Tulsa streets along East 41st Street.
Construction will start after rush hour on the following dates and streets:
- Tuesday night, Sept. 7: East 41st Street will be closed at South Utica Avenue and reopened before morning rush hour on Wednesday, Sept. 8.
- Wednesday night, Sept. 8: East 41st Street will be closed at South Troost Avenue and reopened before morning rush hour on Thursday, Sept. 9.
- Thursday night, Sept. 9: East 41st Street will be closed at South Trenton Avenue and reopened before morning rush hour on Friday, Sept. 10.
- Friday night, Sept. 10: East 41st Street will be closed at South St. Louis Avenue and reopened by Saturday morning, Sept. 11.
- Saturday night, Sept. 11: East 41st Street will be closed at South Rockford Avenue and reopened by Sunday morning, Sept. 12.
The work is part of a street rehabilitation project that includes East 41st Street between Riverside Drive and South Lewis Avenue, plus South Lewis Avenue between East 31st Street and East 41st Street. Work is completed on Lewis Avenue and on 41st Street between Riverside Drive and South Peoria Avenue.
The City of Tulsa has contracted with Becco Contractors Inc. for this $4.9 million project funded by the 2005 General Obligation Bond Issue.
