Pre-Trial Hearing Set For Woman Accused Of Killing Bicyclists Near Sand Springs

TULSA, OKLAHOMA -- Attorneys held a discovery hearing Wednesday morning for a woman charged with first-degree manslaughter in the death of two bicyclists.

Sand Springs Police say Tausha Dion Borland was driving under the influence of alcohol when she struck and killed Christa Voss and Matthew Edmonds near Sand Springs on June 9, 2009.

Discovery is part of the pre-trial phase when the prosecution and defense share evidence relevant to the case. Borland's jury trial is set to begin Monday, September 13, 2010.

In addition to the manslaughter charges, Borland is charged with leaving the scene of an injury accident and driving under the influence of alcohol.

Tausha Borland is being sued in Tulsa County court by family members of both cyclists. She is also being sued by John Moore, a third cyclist who was injured in the crash that killed Voss and Edmonds.
