Organizers Halfway To Their Goal Of Building New Home For Oologah Boy

Organizers of a weekend Little League tournament raised $30,000 to help Jeremiah Mitchell's family replace a home destroyed in a spring storm.

JENKS, OK -- Organizers of a weekend Little League tournament raised $30,000 to help Jeremiah Mitchell's family replace a home destroyed in a spring storm.

The event was called "Heroes" on the Diamond and took place in Jenks.

More than 24 Little League teams played last weekend for Jeremiah and his family.

The 6-year-old Oologah boy continues to make progress since having his arms and legs amputated after contracting bacterial meningitis.

Tournament organizer Mike Payne says they now have to raise the matching funds so they begin building the home for the Mitchell family.
