SAND SPRINGS, OK -- Police said an SUV crashed head-on into a Sand Springs church bus Saturday night. Officers said they believed the driver of the SUV was drunk.

The accident happened shortly after 10:00 p.m. at 13000 West 41st in Sand Springs.

Officers said the church bus, belonging to Limestone Baptist Church, was traveling westbound on West 41st when the oncoming SUV was weaving all over the two-lane road, without lights on.

The church bus came to a complete stop to try to avoid the SUV, officers said. The SUV wasn't driving fast, but hit the church bus head-on, according to police.

About 13 people were on the bus, including kids and two chaperones. No major injuries were reported and the children were released to their families.

Officers said the driver of the SUV showed all signs of being intoxicated. The woman was going to be taken to the police station and tested, the officer on scene said.
