WASHINGTON D.C. -- U.S. Senator Tom Coburn (R) - Oklahoma will take a high profile role this weekend on television and radio. He is expected to discuss the next steps in health care reform following this Thursday's health care summit in Washington.
"Dr. Coburn's recommendations for reform were praised by seven Democrats, including the President and Secretary Sebelius," said John Hart, Coburn's communications director.
Coburn will appear on 'Face The Nation,' aired at 10:30 a.m. Sunday on CBS, Channel 9 in Oklahoma City and Channel 6 in Tulsa.
In his weekly radio address, Coburn addressed the issue of health care and the health care summit. He called the discussion "respectful and constructive," but expressed his concern that the majority of his fellow lawmakers are "not listening to the American people on the subject of health care reform.
"By an overwhelming margin, the American people are telling us to scrap the current bills, which will lead to a government takeover of health care, and we should start over."
