GERONIMO, OK --  Law enforcement is expressing an urgency in their search for a 7-year-old southwest Oklahoma girl.

Investigators believe an ex-con kidnapped Aja Johnson in Geronimo Sunday night after killing the child's mother.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is holding a news conference at 2 p.m. to talk about their investigation and their search efforts.

Right now, the first priority is finding Aja Johnson, but investigators also want to talk to Lester Hobbs about the death of his estranged wife.

Authorities have now expanded the Amber Alert issued early Monday to include the states of California, Texas and Oregon.

They said Lester Hobbs has relatives in those states.

The Comanche County Sheriff's Office and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation are still looking for Aja Johnson, who went missing Sunday night in Geronimo.

J.J. Johnson said Monday his 7-year-old daughter Aja Johnson is on medication and pleaded for her safe return.

Sheriff's deputies say Johnson is the daughter of 37-year-old Tonya Hobbs, who was found by relatives shot to death in an RV in Geronimo Sunday night.

Geronimo is about 100 miles southwest of Oklahoma City.

Johnson is 4 feet tall, 65 pounds, has brown eyes and hair and has a very thin build.

Lester Hobbs is being called a 'person of interest' in connection with the homicide.

Authorities say Tonya Hobbs came to Geronimo to reconcile her relationship with Hobbs.

Deputies say Hobbs is 5-feet-9 and 180 pounds. Hobbs is not Aja's biological father.

Prison records show Lester Hobbs served 20 months in 2003 for Cleveland County convictions of assault and battery with a deadly weapon and driving under the influence after former conviction of a felony.  He has separate convictions for assault with a dangerous weapon, driving under the influence, eluding police and resisting arrest, prison records show.

They believe Lester Hobbs is driving a 1992 White Toyota Paseo with Oklahoma license plate number 577-BPW. They say the back window of Paseo has been replaced with a piece of plastic.

If you see the vehicle, you're urged to call 911 or the Comanche County Sheriff's Office at 580-585-4440. Geronimo Police have a telephone line dedicated for calls on the case. That number is 580-355-1115.
