TULSA, OK -- The University of Tulsa gets a big gift for its law school.

The Chapman Charitable Trusts announced Tuesday that it is establishing an endowment for the university's law school.

The gift will pay the salary for the Dean of the school, so the university will be able to spend that money in another way to benefit students.

"The Chapman Trust has been at the center of every major development at TU for the last 50 years I have joked and really it's absolutely true, but even the air that we breath has been conditioned by the Chapman Trust," Steadman Upham, TU President, said with a chuckle.

The Chapman Trusts also announced that they will be donating a million dollars to fund a major renovation of John Rogers Hall.

The building houses the university's law school and law library.
