BROKEN ARROW, OK -- Broken Arrow residents with iPhones can now take their neighborhood crime map with them wherever they go.
The Broken Arrow Police Department announced Thursday that they are making crime information such as sex offender data and local crime mapping available in a new iPhone application. The CrimeReports app can be downloaded free of charge at the iTunes App Store.
"This information is vital to our citizens'safety," says Crime Prevention Specialist Lisa Ford.
"Providing it to the general public through a mobile device allows citizens even easier access to it than before. We're pleased to be offering the most advanced tools available to foster communication and engagement with community members to prevent and reduce crime."
In addition to local crime, the CrimeReports iPhone app also features crime data for more than 600 other law enforcement agencies across North America, and includes registered sex offender data for all 50 states. CrimeReports adds more than 50 agencies to its National Crime Map each month, so coverage is expanding quickly.
