Guilty Plea Entered In Oklahoma Casino Theft

TULSA, OK -- A Joplin, Missouri man has plead guilty in federal court in Tulsa for stealing thousands of dollars from an Oklahoma casino by converting .25 cent poker chips into $500 chips.

Acting U.S. Attorney Thomas Woodward says 49-year-old William Lancaster's charges were contained in a grand jury indictment returned in November.

Woodward says Lancaster admitted in court he used a special process of bleaching and dyeing the .25 chips to look like the Seneca Cayuga Grand Lake Casino $500 chips. He then used the counterfeit chips at the Grove casino's blackjack tables.

Lancaster admitted in court he stole at least $27,236 from the casino.

Sentencing for Lancaster is scheduled for March 9, 2010.
