TULSA, OK -- Dozens of Tulsa Public School administrators attended an OSSAA seminar on athletic rules.

Tulsa Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Keith Ballard required school-level administrators to attend the seminar on rules relating to athletics.

The seminar was conducted by the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association.

The seminar comes in the wake of recent scandals like the one at Booker T. Washington. An internal investigation found multiple violations within the school's athletic department.

OSSAA leaders delivered a power point presentation explaining eligibility rules for high school athletics, which has become a focal issue to many high profile programs.

The OSSAA seminar covered TPS booster club-sanctioning policy and procedure, Title IX and association rules, including rule 9 which regulates inappropriate recruiting incentives for athletes.

OSSAA members say there are no excuses for violating any rules.

It was mandatory that athletic directors and principals of both high schools and middle schools, and assistant principals in charge of athletics, attend the seminar.

A Tulsa Public Schools investigation revealed Booker T. had violated state recruiting and residency rules.
