PONCA CITY, OK -- The search is over for a 56-year-old man who disappeared while swimming in a flooded rock quarry east of Ponca City in Osage County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports Franklin Otis Conner was found Monday shortly before 10:00 a.m.

An OHP dive team member found the drowning victim 40 feet east of West Shore Line and 30 feet south of North Shore in 11 feet of water.

OHP says the man was transported to the Tulsa Medical Examiner's Office by Trout Funeral Home.

Investigators say Conner was fishing when he decided to go swimming and disappeared under the water.
