TULSA, OK -- A tight economy may be a boon for estate sales.
"It's almost silly, in this economy, not to do this," said one estate sale shopper.
At an estate sale in south Tulsa on Thursday, some shoppers showed up early to get their number. They returned an hour and a half later at 9 a.m. for the opening.
"The toughest thing is finding a parking place," said Debbie Grillot.
Grillot is one of the partners in Marilyn Riggs Estate Sales. She said first day prices are firm and then discounts are added on days two and three to move the items.
Marilyn Riggs has been hosting the sales for 40 years because they are fun and the economy hasn't hurt their business. They have more shoppers now than ever.
Estate sales are listed in the classified section of the newspaper. But, veteran shoppers are on the company's mailing or e-mail lists.
