TULSA, OK -- It's been three years since Oklahoma State has been in the NCAA Tournament and for those taking in Sunday's second round game against Pittsburgh -- it was good to see the Cowboys back in the saddle.
"When I was there we didn't play very well," said OSU fan Greg Fox. "We never made the tournament and that was back in the old days in 1972. Watching them go this far is good after all the turmoil they've had this season. It's very exciting."
Fans settled in at Cowboy Sharkies to watch the Pokes. Since OU made it to the Sweet 16 on Saturday, even those in crimson and cream seemed to have a soft spot for the Cowboys.
"They're good people," said one OU fan. "They just need to wear a little more red."
Well, sort of.
"My bracket kind of says Pittsburgh has to win," said OU fan Dylan Ward.
So the Sooner support wasn't outpouring, but one fan admitted to rooting for both in-state teams -- except when OU and OSU play each other.
"Right, right. Then of course OU has to dominate," Ward said.
Regardless, these fans were looking at life with the glass more than half full.
"My family and I are all OSU fans. My husband and I both graduated from Oklahoma State. On game days we definitely wear our orange," said OSU fan Heidi Robison.
