TULSA, OK -- The City of Tulsa Emergency Operations Center is fully staffed and ready to respond to the ice storm.

They say after getting through the December 2007 ice storm they are prepared for the worst case scenario.   They remind Tulsa residents to call 211 if you have questions or concerns.  First responders are dealing with extremely high call volumes and ask that you only call 911 if your life is threatened.

Tulsa Public Works has distributed more than 500 tons of salt so far and will work 24 hours a day until they're no longer needed.

There are two emergency shelters on standby in Tulsa in case power goes out.
