TULSA, OK -- Santa Claus wore blue Wednesday, dress blues in fact, to deliver some toys to a family in north Tulsa.

When the U.S. Marines show up in dress blues, it's usually not good news. But several U.S. Marines were at a Tulsa home Wednesday afternoon to deliver toys.

Several U.S. Marine recruiters decided to take on the project after a man walked into their office just after the deadline for the Toys for Tots drive. The drive is a part of the Marine Corps Reserve, but these active duty Marines didn't want to let a single family go without.

"So me and a couple of other recruiters in the office decided it was time for us to give back to the community," said SSgt. Anthony Howard, US Marine Corps.

Staff Sergeant Howard wanted to do something for 8-year old Isaac and 2-year old Justice, so he led the group that gathered up some toys.

"Two dirt bikes and a whole bunch of toys," said Isaac.

The boys ended up loaded down with toys, and their uncle who asked for the help, figures he's a hero.

"Pretty cool and I appreciate it, and now I know my little nephews will be happy with Christmas," said John Todd.

Isaac planned to spend some time with his new toys.

"Play with the toys and then go to bed and wait for Christmas and then unwrap the rest of them and play with all the others too," said Isaac Bates.

And for the U.S. Marines, another mission accomplished.

"The expression on their faces, the smiles, that did it for me, that's my Christmas," said SSgt Anthony Howard.

The Marine Corps Reserve annually collects presents in their Toys for Tots drive.
