SALLISAW, Okla. (AP) -- Authorities say two teenagers from Gans died when their sport utility vehicle overturned as the driver tried to pass another vehicle on State Highway 141 in Sequoyah County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 18-year-old Geoffrey L. Sharp and 17-year-old James T. Young were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident about 8:20 a.m. Monday.

OHP troopers say Sharp was driving the SUV east on the highway when he tried to go around a car in a no-passing zone on a curve in the road. When he swerved to avoid oncoming traffic, he overcorrected and the vehicle overturned numerous times, throwing him and Young out.

The patrol says 15-year-old Mac J. Vinson was partially ejected from the SUV but was treated for minor injuries at a Sallisaw hospital and released.

Troopers say none of the SUV's occupants were wearing seat belts.
