TULSA, OK -- She says she was terrorized for months before being shot and paralyzed.  On Wednesday, a Broken Arrow woman took the stand against her ex-boyfriend.

Teresa Thompson says her life will never be the same.  She's paralyzed and can only use a wheelchair to get around.  She told a Tulsa County jury it was all at the hands of her ex-boyfriend.

Kelly Waymire is accused of breaking into his ex-girlfriend's home early in the morning on October 1st, 2007.  Teresa Thompson says the terrifying events of that day were preceded by months of fear and abuse by her former boyfriend.

Waymire and Thompson's seven year relationship ended in May 2007. Three months later, Thompson got a victim's protective order against Waymire. In September, Thompson's home was vandalized, her cars were set on fire, and she began receiving dozens of bizarre phone calls.

Then, on October 1st, Thompson says Waymire broke into her home and began firing shots.  Her current boyfriend was able to escape, but Thompson says she was too worried about her 15-year-old daughter who was still in the home and decided to stay.

At one point, Thompson says Waymire told her, "'Where's your boyfriend?  Your stupid boyfriend. Teresa, this is your last chance. I'll kill everybody in the house if you don't come over here,'" testified Teresa Thompson.

Thompson says Waymire then grabbed her around the shoulders, held her close, and shot her in the side under the arm.  She says he then told her she shouldn't have been so bad, adding it was time for her to say her goodbyes.

When police arrived, Thompson says Waymire wanted to use her as a human shield to protect himself from getting shot.

Broken Arrow Police Officer Zach Schatz was also shot when he and three other officers tried to get into the home.

He told the jury he only suffered a deep bruise but could have been killed if he hadn't been wearing his protective vest.
