Wagoner County authorities are warning residents around the Golf Club of Oklahoma about a possible danger.
The Wagoner County Sheriff's Office says a spillway next to a flood control dam on the course is in danger of breaking. The water is washing away the spillway near the dam. Officials say this could cause the lake to be drained quickly across 141st Street South, which has been closed.
Sheriff's deputies have asked residents in the area between 141st and 161st Streets South and between 225th East Avenue and County Line Road to evacuate as a precaution.
Dewayne Phillips with the Oklahoma Conservation Commission says this is a low hazard dam and no homes or buildings will be impacted if the lake is drained.
