The Chairman of the Tulsa City Council Streets Subcommittee says major road repairs are still far in the future. Bill Martinson says despite newspaper reports to the contrary, there is no set plan right now for fixing Tulsa streets.
Martinson does admit the city must act sooner, rather than later, in fixing the streets.
"By any measure our streets are bad and getting worse. If we act soon the cost will exceed a billion dollars. If we wait, the cost will increase exponentially," said Tulsa City Councilor,
Bill Martinson.
Martinson is looking at how the city is spending its third-penny sales tax money. He says once the analysis is finished, a repair plan will be announced.
