ROME (AP) -- The Army now says at least five people were killed when one of its helicopters crashed in northern Italy.
A statement from U.S. Army Europe says 11 service members were on board the UH-60 Army Black Hawk helicopter. The Italian fire department said four bodies had been pulled from the wreckage of the chopper and six people had been injured.
The Army says one of the injured people later died.
Television footage showed the charred remains of the chopper, which broke into at least two pieces, smoldering in a swampy field.
Names of the victims are being withheld pending notification of their families. The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
