Garth Brooks Named An Icon

He is a living legend. Garth Brooks gets the honor Sunday night of being named an Oklahoma icon. The singer was honored at the Will Rogers Rotary Gala which was held at Tulsaâ€™s Crowne Plaza. Will Rogers, of course, was a world-wide superstar in his day, famous as an entertainer, humorist and ambassador of Oklahoma.

Garth Brooks is also an Oklahoma native and one of the best-selling artists of all time. More importantly, the award committee feels Garth Brooks lives the motto of generosity and integrity Will Rogers was famous for. Between concerts and trips to the studio, they feel his charity has done plenty for Oklahoma children.
