OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma is getting a $50,000 donation.

The Nicole Barr BELTS Foundation is providing the money to allow the food bank to buy food for 370 children every Friday of the school year as part of the Food 4 Kids program.

The program provides a backpack of kid-friendly nutritious food to chronically hungry elementary school children to help them during weekends and holidays during the school year.

It provides the backpacks to a total of 5,600 students at 182 elementary schools in 29 counties in central and western Oklahoma. Each backpack costs $135 to fill.

The Nicole Barr BELTS Foundation donates money to organizations that provide food and clothing to hungry and impoverished children nationwide.
