A police chase caused some south Tulsa residents to evacuate their home Wednesday morning when the chase came to a sudden end. It happened at the corner of 46th Street South and Union. Tulsa Police officers say they were trying to stop a motorist for speeding when the accident happened.
Instead of stopping, the driver of the car took off and ran several stop signs in a south Tulsa neighborhood. Police say the driver lost control and ran into a house near 46th Street South and Union, along with damaging a gas meter and a power line pole.
There were people inside the home at the time of the accident, but Tulsa Police say they were not hurt. Police say the home's residents had to be evacuated because of the damaged gas meter.
The driver did receive some minor injuries from the accident.
