MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) -- A Muldrow man says he wants answers about how his son died in the Cherokee County jail. Authorities say 22-year-old Aaron Riddle apparently used his clothing to hang himself in a jail cell last Thursday night.
Now Eugene Riddle says he had told authorities his son was being treated for depression. Riddle says he was told his son was being watched around the clock to prevent a suicide attempt.
Cherokee County Undersheriff Jason Chennault says Riddle was under a suicide watch until last Thursday morning when he was transferred to another cell.
The state jail inspector's office is now looking into Riddle's death.
Riddle was being held in connection with several burglaries in the Lake Tenkiller area.
