138th Fighter Wing Honored

Some Oklahoma National Guardsmen are honored for their service in Iraq. Tulsa Mayor Kathy Taylor and Tulsa City Councilman Bill Christiansen gave the men and women of the 138th Fighter Wing a proclamation on Sunday at the Tulsa International Airport.

Mayor Taylor briefly talked with the troops about her experience in Iraq and how much she appreciates their sacrifice.

"I got to sit across the table from the troops, from you, and see the passion that you have, the support from your family, the pictures of your kids and understand that you've disrupted your life, because of your passion to protect the most precious thing that we have and that is our freedom. Thank you," Mayor Taylor said.

The 138th Fighter Wing is part of the Oklahoma Air National Guard, based at Tulsa International Airport.
