Two people are dead in an apparent murder suicide in Creek County. It happened late Wednesday night in the 19110 block of South 533rd West Avenue. Creek County Sheriff’s deputies say it appears 42-year-old Kenneth Freeman hid in a wooded area, waiting for his estranged wife to return home. Sheriff's deputies say when Shelly Freeman pulled up with her two children, Kenneth ordered the kids inside. Deputies say Kenneth shot Shelly in the head, and then killed himself.
Shelly Freeman died later at a Drumright hospital.
Creek County court records show Shelly Freeman filed a protective order against her estranged husband. The protective order was dismissed on Tuesday when she did not appear for a court hearing.
