HOCHATOWN, Okla. (AP) -- A Heavener woman is killed Saturday morning after a motorcycle accident north of Hochatown in McCurtain County.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 39-year-old Tina Edwards was a passenger on a 2005 motorcycle driven by her husband, Lorne Edwards.
The Edwards and another couple were driving their motorcycles south on U.S. 259 when a northbound vehicle driven by 40-year-old Leslie Qualls of Idabel attempted to pass another car.
The patrol says the drivers of the motorcycles swerved to avoid the oncoming vehicle and crashed.
Lorne Edwards was in critical condition, while Tina Edwards died at the scene.
The other couple suffered minor injuries but refused treatment at the scene.
The patrol says Lorne and Tina Edwards were not wearing helmets.
