A tanker truck overturned on U.S. Highway 169 at 96th Street North closing both the highway and 96th Street North for several hours Tuesday morning. Owasso Police and Fire both responded to the accident. Police say the truck was carrying Argon gas. Argon gas is a nonreactive gas found in light bulbs.

There were no reports of any injuries from the accident. Traffic on U.S. Highway 169 was diverted for several hours, while crews removed the gas from the vehicle and cleaned up the accident.

Owasso Police say because the gas was inert, no evacuations around the accident scene were ordered.
