All this rain is affecting Oklahoma’s wheat farmers. Those farmers are taking a huge hit. Heavy downpours have devastated this years' crop.
Many farmers are watching their grain rot in the fields, because it is too wet to run the combine, in order to cut the grain. “April 1st it was looking like we were going to have a bumper crop this year and since then there's been a lot of things working against us,†says KP Haley with Oklahoma Farm Bureau.
Farmers say it will take 10 days of sunshine to dry out the wheat fields. And by then, most of the wheat crop will not be able to be saved.
