Tulsa firefighters are investigating a potential arson after a vacant apartment building catches fire. Tulsa Police were originally called to the building at Independence and Birmingham because of a report of a possible burglary in progress.
Police officers arrived to find three individuals running from behind the building. As a police officer chased the suspects, she noticed smoke coming from the building. Tulsa Fire was called to the scene. Firefighters kept the fire confined to one room of one apartment. There was some smoke and water damage to two more units.
Tulsa Police caught two of the three suspects, Jordan Mares and a juvenile. Mares and the unidentified juvenile were booked into the Tulsa County jail on burglary and arson complaints.
