There's a new instant multi-millionaire in Oklahoma. The winning ticket was sold in Oklahoma for the national Powerball jackpot. News On 6 anchor Craig Day reports that lucky person is a $105 million winner.
The Shell station in Roland is full of excitement too. Someone bought a winning Powerball ticket there.
"I think it's a great thing. Whoever won it could sure share it with me,†said Fort Smith, Arkansas, resident Mary Holderfield. “I need it. I would help them spend it."
"I would get me a new wife, couple new children, couple new cars, couple new houses,†said Powerball player Tracy Lane. “Man it would be a wonderful thing."
It's not just any Powerball ticket. This one is for the $105 million jackpot. Store manager Dora Johnson got goose bumps when she heard the news.
"A nervous wreck, I was about to fall out," Johnson said.
The winning Powerball ticket sold in Roland is the second one sold in Oklahoma. If the winner takes the lump sum payment, they'll get $46 million. It's enough to set off Powerball dreams for others like Tracy Lane.
"I wish it was me man. You know what I'm saying. I would have loved to won all that money,†Lane said. “I would leave the truck right there and just quit. I would walk home. With that much money, somebody would take me home."
The shell station in Roland is only a few miles from Fort Smith, Arkansas, and it's located just off I-40. So it's not clear yet if the winner is from Oklahoma, Arkansas or was just passing through.
No matter who won, others are happy for the new multi-millionaire. They hope good fortune can strike twice in the same spot and that this may just be a lucky store.
Another ticket sold in the Sooner State matches the first five numbers, but missed the Powerball. That ticket was sold in Bartlesville and wins $200,000 dollars.
