Lawsuit Filed In Alleged Hospital Rape

A civil lawsuit has been filed against Saint Francis Hospital and some of its nurses. It claims a mentally disabled woman was raped by a nurse while she was in a medically induced coma. The suit accuses the hospital of being negligent for hiring the nurse, because he had been accused previously of sexual misconduct.

Another patient also says she was raped by the same nurse while at the hospital.

St. Francis issued a statement saying the hospital is conducting an internal investigation. The statement also states that the care and safety of patients is the hospitalâ€™s top priority.

The nurse has been fired.
