An early Wednesday morning fire destroys a Tulsa mansion. It happened about 3 AM near Edison and Frisco.

Officials say a driver on the Tisdale Expressway passing-by first noticed the fire and called authorities.

When crews arrived the intensity of the fire quickly forced them to go on the defensive. Tulsa Fire District Chief Ken Myers: "We arrived at the scene we had visible smoke and flames from essentially every window and door."

No one was in the building at the time of the fire. The mansion is a total loss.

The cause is under investigation.
