OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ The first fund drive at Oklahoma City University in a decade is focusing on improving the learning environment and scholarship endowments.
The 100 million dollar ``Lighting the World _ One Star at a Time'' campaign is crucial to maintaining high levels of achievement at the private university.
O-C-U President Tom McDaniel says the school receives no state funds. McDaniel says the only way to meet rising costs is to raise tuition and increase endowments.
Capital improvements include the 18-point-three million dollar Meinders School of Business, which opened in January. The nearly 32 million dollar Wanda L. Bass School of Music is expected to be complete next year.
The university has nearly four-thousand undergraduate, graduate and law students.
