State Insurance Commissioner Carroll Fisher says he's not worried about impeachment proceedings scheduled to begin this week in the Oklahoma Legislature.
The House of Representatives will meet Thursday to considerwhether to recommend impeaching Fisher for neglect of duty, corruption in office and incompetence. If impeached, Fisher will be tried in the Senate.
He also faces five felony criminal charges in Oklahoma County District Court.
Fisher said yesterday that the charges don't mean he's a bad insurance commissioner.
Fisher says independent audits clear him of any financial wrongdoing.
He says he's prepared to fight to prove his innocence.
