DURANT, Okla. (AP) _ Law enforcement officials in southern Oklahoma are keeping an eye out Saturday for an inmate who escaped from a state correctional center in Atoka.
43-year-old Audrey Allen Himes remains on the run after eluding police yesterday during a chase that injured an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper.
The trooper, whose name has not been released, spotted the two men in a stolen vehicle in Durant and attempted to pull them over.
While doing a tactical move, he wrecked his car.
The trooper suffered minor injuries and was treated and released.
OHP spokesman Lieutenant Brandon Kopepasah says Himes and William Burton escaped from Howard McLeod Correctional Center in Atoka.
Burton was apprehended.
