Oklahoma's ' teacher of the year' finalists announced

Two Green Country teachers are among the finalists for Oklahoma's teacher of the year.

Susan Illgen [pictured right] teaches at Grove Lower Elementary, and Jan McClaren [pictured left] teaches at Claremore High School.

Jan McClaren: "It's a thanks, reflection of my students, crowning achievement for me and my students."

McClaren and Illgen were two of twelve teachers announced as finalists by state school superintendent Sandy Garret at Tuesday's annual leadership conference.

The winner will be chosen this fall at the Oklahoma State Fair in Oklahoma City.
